Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Ascendance Strategies (Expats Paris SAS) collects, why, and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French Loi Informatique et Libertés.

Data we collect

• Account & subscription data: name, email, organisation, billing details, processed to operate your subscription.
• Usage data: pages viewed, saved items and preferences, used to deliver and improve the service.
• Communications: messages you send us and newsletter subscription status.

Why we process it

To provide subscriber access, process payments, send the briefings you request, respond to enquiries, meet legal and accounting obligations, and secure the platform. Payment card data is handled by our payment processor (Stripe); we do not store card numbers.

Legal bases

Performance of your subscription contract; your consent (for marketing email, withdrawable at any time); and our legitimate interest in operating and securing the service.

Retention

Account data is kept for the life of your subscription and as required by law thereafter (accounting records: ten years). Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You may access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your data, and object to it, by writing to [email protected]. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data-protection authority.

Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to run the site and, with your consent, analytics cookies to understand usage. You can manage preferences through the cookie banner or your browser settings.

Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern paid subscriptions to Ascendance Strategies.

Subscriptions & billing

Subscriptions are billed annually in advance through our payment processor. Tier inclusions are as described on the Subscribe page. Prices are exclusive of VAT, which is applied where required.

Cancellation & refunds

You may cancel at any time; access continues to the end of the paid period and is not renewed thereafter. Annual fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.

Acceptable use of subscriber content

Subscriber content (full briefs, dossiers, registers, the archive) is licensed to the named subscriber for internal professional use. Seats are personal and non-transferable. Redistribution outside your organisation, or beyond your licensed seats, is prohibited. Enterprise seat terms are set out in your agreement.

Enterprise engagements

Enterprise subscriptions and commissioned work are arranged through a direct agreement and are not sold through public checkout.

Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. Disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Paris, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rules.
